Chicago Park District
Variety supports the Chicago Park District’s five week-long adaptive day camp programs for children and youth with disabilities. The camps offer hundreds of children with a range of physical and cognitive disabilities the opportunity to try sports, art, and music in an extremely accepting environment.

Chicago Public Schools
Variety Children’s Charity of Illinois presented two Chicago Public Schools with grants in amount of $5000 each this month to assist them in obtaining adaptive sports equipment for students with disabilities (a photo of the check presentation is available for release upon request).

Blair Early Childhood Center (6751 W. 63rd Place) will use the grant money to acquire updated adaptive sports equipment for physical therapy and Walter S. Christopher Elementary School (5042 S. Artesian) will use it to resurrect its adaptive sports programs.

Blair Early Childhood Center
provides educational, health and therapeutic services for physically and multiply disabled children ages three to seven years.
Blair plays a privileged and unique role in educating Chicago’s children by:
- Providing a protective environment in which the disabled child can participate in a standard education program.
- Providing specialized programs and services based on the child’s needs as determined by parents, staff, medical consultants and other professionals
Walter S. Christopher Elementary School
K-8 public school that provides educational and health services for students with and without disabilities or other health impairments, including multiply disabled students. History, calendar, services, and contact details provided.

Located in Mount Prospect, IL, Innate Concepts Chiropractic recently held a Kids Day Event that included a health screening and activities for kids. Proceeds benefited Variety.
